Mercury Retrograde Explained:
Hey, Frank. I think I can explain why Mercury Retrograde happens pretty simply.
Hold your two pointer fingers about half an arm’s length in front of your eyes, and about an inch or two apart. Point the left one up and the right one down, so that the tip of one is on the same plane as the first knuckle of the other.
Your left finger represents the sun. Your right finger is Mercury.
For best results, close one eye. Now keep your left finger still, and make your right finger revolve counterclockwise around your left, just like the way Mercury revolves around the sun.
Notice that when your right finger is closer to you, it’s moving left-to-right. Then when it starts to go behind your left finger, it’s moving right-to-left.
That’s kinda what our perspective of Mercury is like, except for the fact that we’re revolving too. But that’s why it looks like Mercury’s going backwards three times a year – and actually this year it happens four times!
Thanks for sharing my Groundhog Man story! I’ll look for those tapes!
Brian
I’m wondering whether mercury retrograde dulls creativity. I haven’t made a podc-…erm…I mean “show”…since December, just because nothing comes out of my mouth.
