I’m not very familiar with his work outside of “Taxi”, but from what I’m hearing Andy Kaufman reminds me of Peter Cooke (Dudley Moore’s former comedy partner), who, late in his career used to phone English radio shows under a pseudonym. Admittedly he had not faked his own death, and later went on to die, but he reminds me of Kauffman with his various characters that he used in interviews and all that sort of stuff.
