Frank . . . My name is Mike Barclay and I am VP/Partner in a beverage consulting and broker business (U.S. Beverage Corporation) out of Texas. Watermark Innovations (Pure Cool) is a client of ours and we are assisting them in getting their products into wider distribution (it has only been on the market in your part of the country for about 45 days, so you got it really early).
We very much appreciate your review (of both the product and the web-site). I have suggested from the very beginning that they use Flash for about a 15 second intro and just show the flavors – as you said. If they want to use a video . . . just link it for the people that want that kind of thing – not everyone listens to their consultant . . . go figure.
You made a few mistakes on the product and packaging (normal for someone not connected to the beverage industry). The plastic (PET) bottles are used because the “still” product is “hot-filled” and this packaging is perfect for that process – I also think all bottled waters should have a “Wide Mouth”. The “Sparkling” product has carbonation and has to be “cold filled” (if you try to hot-fill any carbonated product the carbonation just escapes – just like it does when you leave it out, opened, and it gets warm – it must be filled at no more than 38 F) and because of the “Taste Experience” formula it needs a stronger barrier and therefore glass became the package of choice (this may change in the future).
Again, thanks for the review and please email me of you have any questions or comments.
And . . . yes, the web-site is going to change.
Mike
